Netgear Orbi Setup: Quick And Easy Guide
Netgear Orbi Setup is extremely easy all thanks to the Orbi app. So without further ado let’s begin with the setup process:
Pre-Requirements
To complete the Netgear Orbi Setup you need following things:
✓ Firstly, your Orbi router and the satellites.
✓ Next, the power adapters for powering on Orbi and its satellites.
✓ Further you need an Ethernet cable for connecting the modem and the Orbi router.
✓ Lastly, your mobile phone for completing the setup.
Download The Orbi App
Firstly, take your mobile phone and download the Orbi app on it. The Orbi app is available for both android as well as iOS users. Android users can download the app from the Play Store and iOS users can do so through the App store. Or else you can also download it from orbi-app.com.
Now, you will be prompted to create your Netgear account. Follow the screen instructions to create an account. Once logged in, tap on “GET STARTED” and then on “ENABLE CAMERA AND SCAN”.
Now pick up your orbi router, on it you will find a QR code. Just scan it and tap on “CONTINUE”. Further select your model number and the total number of satellites. Once done, again tap on “CONTINUE”.
Restart The Modem
Next, on the app screen locate the modem and tap on “CONTINUE”. To restart, firstly unplug your modem and again tap on “CONTINUE”. Now plug the modem back into an electrical outlet and power it on. Wait for a few seconds or a minute to let it boot up properly.
Connect Hardware
Now, it’s time to power on and connect the modem, orbi router and the satellites.
- First take the provided Ethernet cable. Connect its one end to the Orbi router’s yellow internet port and other end to the modem’s ethernet port.
- Next, take the power adaptor and connect it to the Orbi router. Plug it in the wall socket. Switch on the power button.
Note: Do not move on to the next step until the power LED turns solid white. If it is flickering then it means it is still booting up. Meanwhile the router is booting, you can strategically place the Orbi satellites.
- Once you have placed the satellites, use the power adapters for switching them on. Once done go back to your orbi app and tap on “Continue”.
Connect To Your Orbi Router’s Default Wifi.
To connect your mobile phone to the Orbi router’s default wifi, visit the wifi settings. In the list of available networks search for the default network name for the Netgear Orbi. Once found click on it and then tap on “Connect”. After you successfully connect your mobile phone to the wifi network of the router, come back to the orbi app and again click on “CONTINUE”.
Complete The Setup
Lastly, you just need to follow all the on-screen prompts. Eventually, the Netgear Orbi Setup will be all done and ready. Now you can test the network by connecting your technical gadgets to the new network.
Netgear Orbi Login Guide
Logging into your Netgear Orbi is crucial if you want to make changes in your network. It is very simple and easy to log in into your Netgear Orbi. You can do so through www.orbilogin.com. Check out the steps below for the same:
✓ Firstly connect any of your devices to the Orbi router. For wireless connection use wifi. For wired connection use an Ethernet cable.
✓ Once connected, on the same device open any web browser.
✓ Go to the address bar type www.orbilogin.com and press Enter. The login page will appear on your device’s screen. In case it doesn’t work then try accessing it via http://192.168.1.1/. If this default IP address also does not work then use www.orbilogin.net. Also make sure you clear all the browser caches and cookies before entering the above details.
✓ Next, you will be prompted to sign in. For this you have to fill up the username and password. Copy these details from the user guide. Or in case you have modified these details earlier then fill the customized login details and click on “SIGN IN”.
